Mathematical String Art!

The 8th grade Algebra students began their first mathematics project of the year by designing and completing a String Art Project.  They began by creating an original color-coded design while following a few required elements such as line and rotational symmetry and by having a required number of geometric elements.  After completing their design, they gathered the needed tools and equipment to finish the stringing of the project.  Items such as a piece of wood, colored string, nails, a hammer, and possibly paint or cloth were necessary in completing the project.  The bulk of the time spent on the project was the actual placement and hammering of the nails and the stringing of the design.  The students put a lot of time and effort into their project and th

2010-2011 Tuition Rates Frozen at ILS

Families at Immanuel Lutheran received great news during the annual “State of the Church and School Address” presented at Immanuel this past week. Families in attendance heard firsthand that the annual tuition will not increase for the 2010-2011 school year!

“After a difficult economic year in 2009, we are pleased to be able to offer families some relief with tuition payments,” says Mr. Nick Hopfensperger, principal at Immanuel Lutheran School. “We expect that it will be a help to our current families as well as to those families who may be considering a Christian education for their children.”

Preschool and Kindergarten Registration

Registration for the 2010-2011 school year will be held during the week of January 19th.  Parents should stop by the school office any day during that week between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm to register their child(ren).  If you are unable to stop by the school during the school day, you may also register during the evening on January 21st, anytime between 6:00 and 7:30 pm.

All interested parents should plan to register!  If you know of a family with young children, please share this information with them! For more information, contact the school office.

Anyone that shops at Schnucks from January 10th through 19th will be able to earn cash for ILS!  Get 20 bonus box tops (value of $2.00) when you buy any 5 participating "Box Tops for Education" products.  Get 70 bonus box tops (value of $7.00) when you purchase any 10 participating "Box Tops for Education" products.  If we have 100 individuals (from church or school) purchase 10 "Box Tops for Education" items and return the register printout to the school office, the school would earn approximately $700!  Stop by Schnucks or contact the school office for more information.

You are invited to a choral vespers worship on Dec 16

Immanuel's annual Choral Vespers worship service will be held on Wednesday, December 16th, beginning at 7:00 pm. All students will be participating in the service in recitations, singing songs, and sharing their musical talents.

This year’s program is based on the great hymn “Savior of the Nations, Come,” which unpacks the miracle of the two natures of Christ (human and God). As the hymn focuses on the two natures of Christ, it also rejoices that the God-man has come to be the Savior of the Nations. He comes this advent season for all nations of the world to reveal Himself as the long-expected Jesus.
