Many moviegoers may be surprised to see a short drama about how Jesus encourages families with all kinds of issues. Immanel has partnered with Cinema 1 Plus to sponsor a 30 second pre-show message gently offering the hope of good news in Jesus before each movie. Ads run three times prior to each showing on all five screens.  That's more than sixty showings every day!

Immanuel's evangelism team, lead by Leah Gruber, has been praying for this opportunity for many months. Finally a slot opened beginning June 1, 2010. The message this month will focus on familes. The message next month will focus on those who have drifted away from a close relationship with Jesus.

The end of each message invites viewers to visit Immanuel and our web site to find hope in Jesus. If your friends or neigbors  tell you they have seen the message, please be sure to warmly invite them to worship with us.

There has been a  significant increase in the number of family-friendly and Christian-friendly movies over the past 20 years due in part to the efforts of Dr Ted Baehr and the MovieGuide ministry. Ted attends a Lutheran Church in Hollywood. We are hopeful that sometime soon he will speak at Immanuel.

There is still some concern about objectionable content in the movies but we should celebrate that most movies now have good content and that Immanuel is allowed to place a message in our local Cinema.
